SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. — Coaster Fine Furniture will debut a vintage modernism gallery at the fall High Point Market, bringing together new introductions and established collections in a presentation designed to help retailers refresh their merchandising.
Located in the first-floor Annex of Coaster’s showroom, the boutique-style gallery will span living room and accent seating, bedroom, dining room, and occasional furniture.
Rich wood tones, saturated colors, textured fabrics and curved shapes will connect the assortment, which includes promotional, midrange and higher-priced options.
The presentation is envisioned as a look book brought to life, showing retailers and designers how new products can blend with existing Coaster pieces.
“Consumers now are more and more comfortable blending refurbished antique shop finds with new furniture in ways that speak to their own personal style,” said Crystal Nguyen, vice president of merchandise and strategic product planning at Coaster. “Vintage modernism is a design evolution where old meets new in unexpected ways.”
“Not everything needs to be matchy-matchy and décor and furniture double as art pieces that feel collected over time,” Nguyen said. “The look is often quirky with a touch of whimsy, where seemingly disparate pieces come together to stunning effect.”
Among the upholstery introductions, the two-piece Casarin sofa features a curved shape, oversized rounded arms, vertically channeled backrests and a bench-style seat, all overed in soft brown textured fabric.
The Saldana seating collection brings dark navy blue performance velvet to rounded silhouettes with curved arms, plush cushioning and coordinating accent pillows. A new wingback chair rounds out the collection.
Floral patterns add another layer to the gallery’s seating assortment. The Rainn accent chair combines blue jacquard floral upholstery with sloped, rounded arms and plush cushions. The Nordin skirted swivel chair uses a navy blue jacquard floral print.
In bedroom, the Latier upholstered platform bed features bold curves and a tall wingback headboard. Warm rust-colored fabric covers the low-profile design.
The Faulkner dining collection pairs oversized cylindrical table legs and rounded corners with upholstered chairs offered in cream or moss. Crafted from solid hardwood and red oak veneer in a warm brown oak finish, the collection includes an extension table seating up to eight and a round table for four.
Coaster also will show its Lucaire bedroom collection in a new deep black finish with cream chenille upholstery. Previously presented within the company’s Modern Tuscany aesthetic, the design features engineered natural stone tops, antique brass hardware and a lightly wire-brushed, 12-step finish on elm veneer and Asian hardwood.
Coaster’s showroom is at 111 E. Commerce Ave.
