Frigidaire Bets Big on At-Home Pizza Boom wth New Countertop Oven

Pizza may be timeless, but how Americans want to cook it is changing fast. With restaurant prices climbing and home cooking surging, the at-home pizza market has become one of the hottest corners of the $56 billion North American pizza industry. Frigidaire is the latest brand to step into the space, unveiling a lightweight, tech-forward countertop pizza oven designed to bring restaurant-quality pies into home kitchens.

We approached it much like developing any innovative kitchen appliance. That meant testing different cooking methods, materials, and designs to ensure it delivers consistent and quality results at home.

Jillian Divis, Brand Manager at Electrolux

According to Divis, the R&D process drew inspiration from the company’s Gallery Range with Stone-Baked Pizza Mode. But it was consumer input that shaped nearly every decision. “Flavor and convenience were consistently the top motivators,” she explains.

Built Around What Consumers Want

Frigidaire didn’t jump into pizza on a whim. The brand had been tracking how consumers cook, what appliances they adopt, and how often pizza appears on their menus. The numbers told a clear story: nearly 94 percent of U.S. consumers eat pizza at least once a month — more than 313 million people.

We noticed the growing popularity of specialty pizza ovens. Through ongoing conversations with our customers, we heard a strong interest in an appliance that delivers restaurant-quality pizza without taking up too much counter space.

Those insights directly influenced the oven’s features, footprint, and digital interface.

Versatility as a Competitive Edge

In a crowded marketplace of single-purpose pizza ovens, Frigidaire aimed to differentiate with versatility.

The new Countertop Pizza Oven includes six preset pizza functions — Stone-Baked Neapolitan, Thin Crust, Pan, New York, Frozen, and Custom — allowing home cooks to reproduce multiple styles with minimal guesswork.

But the company didn’t stop there. “Unlike many competitors, it also doubles as a 3-in-1 appliance with air fry and bake functions,” Divis says. That added utility positions the oven as an everyday tool rather than a once-a-week novelty.

The design also emphasizes usability: dual windows (front and top) let users monitor cooking progress, and the oven weighs just 11.5 pounds, making it easy to move or store. A digital interface replaces the dials and toggles found on many rival appliances.

Frigidaire’s Stovetop Range Makes A Strong Debut

Early demand for Frigidaire’s other pizza oven – a gallery range with stone-baked pizza mode–suggests the company entered the market at exactly the right moment and bodes well for the tabletop unit. “In just the first few weeks, more than 3,000 units were sold,” Divis confirms. Consumers appear especially drawn to its combination of speed, compact design, and multi-function capabilities.

As for what comes next, the team is listening closely but not rushing. “We don’t have any imminent plans for future iterations,” she says. “But we’re always closely listening to how our customers are interacting with the product so we can continue to evolve.”

Where the Market Is Heading

With delivery habits shifting and restaurant costs rising, more consumers are looking for ways to recreate pizzeria-quality food at home. Frigidaire believes that demand will only accelerate.

People are seeking convenience without compromising quality. They want appliances that deliver restaurant-quality results quickly and easily.

As at-home pizza cooking grows, Frigidaire sees significant opportunity for continued innovation — both in functionality and form factor. For now, the company is betting that its first move into countertop pizza tech arrives at the perfect moment.

If early traction is any indication, the next wave of pizza innovation may be happening far from the corner slice shop — and much closer to America’s countertops.
