Chubby’s Mattress and Rustic Furniture all started with the original family business, Coastal Bend Sales, which opened in 1952 and was in business for nearly 50 years. In 2006, Chubby’s was opened and named for the beloved family pet, “Chubby”. Now, with three stores, Chubby’s serves the mattress and rustic furniture needs of the Coastal Bend.

Chubby’s is active in the community as a major recycler of mattresses and furniture and is a generous supporter of P.A.A.C (People Assisting Animal Control).

Malachi Chandler of Chubby’s Mattress and Rustic Furniture has been an active member of the Nationwide Southwest Furniture & Bedding Advisory Council since its launch in June of 2020. This council has been designed to create a diverse and cohesive furniture and bedding council committed to ensuring that the needs and wants of Members are clearly considered and acted upon. The goal is that through communication, education and collaboration, Nationwide Southwest Independent Retailers can succeed on their own terms. Malachi has been a great contributor to this cause, and we thank him for his continued dedication to serve as a voice for our Nationwide Southwest F&B Members.
